at pubs, i feel like if i'm not overly rude to guys they'll have a go, which they do. zero work experiences of it though, but, limited work experiences full stop. is a dilly of a pickle - you can be overtly extremely rude to him, but then he might say something to people higher up about you; you can tell other people, though like you said, could cause other problems. Is there anyone there in a higher position you trust re: discretion and rar? Go to them.
